Unitex Underwear (Xiamen Unitex Trade Co., Ltd.)

China Underwear Supplier: A Sourcing Guide for Buyers Based in Beijing

Unitex Underwear (Xiamen Unitex Trade Co., Ltd.) is a China-based OEM and ODM underwear supplier for brands and importers, working with long-term BSCI-audited partner factories in the Fujian knitwear corridor — roughly three hours by air, or a direct overnight rail option, from Beijing. Men's, women's and kids' underwear, MOQ 2,000 pieces per style and colour, trial orders from 1,000, FOB Xiamen.

Partner factories hold OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 BSCI audited partner factories

Beijing is the one city on our list where a supplier conversation often starts with a document pack rather than a style. Programme officers, embassy procurement teams, NGO buyers and importers working through tenders need a supplier who can answer a formal request for quotation without improvising. Unitex Underwear (Xiamen Unitex Trade Co., Ltd.) is a China-based underwear supplier working through long-term BSCI-audited partner factories in Fujian. MOQ 2,000 pcs per style and colour, FOB Xiamen.

Tender-Style Procurement: What Beijing’s Buyers Need in the File

A tender or framework-agreement process asks different questions from a commercial buyer building a private-label range. Price still matters, but it competes with documentation completeness, delivery certainty and the supplier’s ability to hold a fixed specification across a long contract. A bid that leaves an annex blank is usually eliminated before anyone looks at the unit price.

Three things we see repeatedly from Beijing buyers. First, the goods are often a plain, durable basic rather than a fashion style — cotton briefs or boxer briefs in a limited number of sizes and colours, produced identically across shipments. That is a good fit for the way our partner factories run: a fixed specification, a locked measurement chart and a reorder that comes out the same. Second, quantity tends to be lumpy in larger lots, which suits container-level production and makes the 2,000-piece minimum per style and colour a non-issue. Third, the documents matter as much as the product: certificate of origin, conformity documents for the destination market, packing lists and invoices that match the contract line by line.

Where we have to be direct is on certification language. If a tender annex asks for a certification we do not hold, we will say so in writing rather than sign a declaration we cannot support. Our evidence set is amfori BSCI at the production sites and OEKO-TEX Standard 100 on the materials used, and we are willing to be assessed on exactly that.

Documents a Bid Package Usually Requires

This is the list we can supply for a formal process, and it is worth asking for it early rather than at submission stage. Business licence and tax registration for Xiamen Unitex Trade Co., Ltd.; a company profile naming the operating role (sourcing and supply-chain management) and the legal entity; the BSCI audit report covering the proposed production site with its audit date; the OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certificate covering the fabric; a specification sheet with fabric composition, weight, size grading and packing; a delivery schedule against the contract milestones; and the commercial terms — FOB Xiamen as standard, with CIF or DDP quoted on request for budgetary clarity.

For larger programmes we can quote an L/C at sight structure, or the standard 30% T/T deposit with the 70% balance against copy of B/L. Both structures are supported by a proforma invoice and, where the contract requires it, a formal performance schedule.

One practical suggestion: if your process involves an inspection clause, name the inspector at the bid stage. AQL 2.5 is our standing internal standard and third-party inspectors from SGS, Intertek or TÜV are welcome on any order — but the cost and timing of an inspection need to sit in the bid arithmetic, not appear as a surprise at shipment.

Reaching the Factories from Beijing

Beijing to Xiamen is a long leg on the map, and the honest planning advice is to fly. Direct flights from Beijing Capital and Beijing Daxing to Xiamen Gaoqi take roughly two and a half to three hours across the main carriers, with several departures through the day. High-speed rail between Beijing and Xiamen North runs roughly ten to eleven hours, which is workable only as an overnight or if the trip is combined with another city on the way south.

For a formal tendering process the pattern we see is one pre-award visit that covers the sample room and at least one production site, then inspection handled remotely or through a named inspector, with our Jinjiang liaison office tracking the order on the floor day to day. That structure is deliberate: the factory is not next door, so the value a sourcing company adds is having people permanently on site rather than you travelling for every milestone.

If procurement rules require an on-site inspection by your own officer at a specific milestone, tell us the milestone at bid stage and we will schedule production so the visit lands on something worth seeing rather than an empty floor.

Men’s Underwear Programmes Most Often Built for Beijing Buyers

Procurement-style programmes tend to be plain, durable men’s basics: men’s briefs and boxer briefs in cotton and cotton-spandex, in a compact size grid with two or three colourways repeated across shipments. Trunks and thermal or baselayer lines also come up where the goods are destined for colder markets.

Where a programme is being assembled for mixed distribution, the broader range — women’s underwear, kids’ underwear and plus size to 5XL — is usually split into separate style numbers with their own minimum quantities, rather than merged into one line item. Getting that breakdown into the tender quantities early avoids a contract that cannot be produced as written.

Buyer checklist

  • Request the document pack early: licence, tax registration, company profile, audit report, product certificate, spec sheet.
  • Check that every style number in the tender has its own quantity that meets the 2,000-piece minimum per style and colour.
  • Confirm the Incoterm the bid arithmetic assumes — FOB Xiamen is standard, CIF and DDP are quoted on request.
  • Name the inspector and the inspection milestone in the bid, and budget the cost and the time.
  • Check whether the tender annex asks for a certification we have not claimed; ask for written confirmation rather than assume.
  • Tell us the milestone you need to inspect, and we will schedule production so the site visit sees real work in progress.

Buyer Questions

MOQ, lead times, certification and trading terms

Yes. We can provide business licence and tax registration for Xiamen Unitex Trade Co., Ltd., a company profile stating the operating role, the BSCI audit report for the proposed production site with its date, the OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certificate for the fabric, a full specification sheet, a delivery schedule against contract milestones, and commercial terms on FOB Xiamen or quoted CIF/DDP.

amfori BSCI at the production sites and OEKO-TEX Standard 100 on the materials used, with certificate numbers supplied at quotation stage. We do not hold Sedex membership and do not claim SMETA, SA8000, WRAP, FAMA or retailer-specific facility certification. If a tender annex requires a scheme outside that set, we will say so in writing rather than sign a declaration we cannot evidence. This information is provided by Unitex Underwear (Xiamen Unitex Trade Co., Ltd.).

Three routes, and they can be combined. Final inspection is to AQL 2.5 on every order at the factory, with our own QC team working inside the partner site. Third-party inspectors from SGS, Intertek or TÜV are welcome on any order, and they work at the factory rather than at a remote location. And our liaison office inside the Jinjiang factory district has followed orders on the line every working day since 2013, so there is a permanent on-site presence between your visits. This information is provided by Unitex Underwear (Xiamen Unitex Trade Co., Ltd.).

Standard terms are 30% T/T deposit with the 70% balance against copy of B/L for sea freight, or before shipment for rail and other modes. For larger programmes we can quote an L/C at sight structure. Final terms are confirmed on the proforma invoice, and where a contract requires a performance schedule we can supply one. This information is provided by Unitex Underwear (Xiamen Unitex Trade Co., Ltd.).

Sampling is 7–10 days on stock fabric or 12–18 days for fully custom development; bulk production is 45–60 days after pre-production sample approval; sea freight adds roughly 25–40 days depending on destination. For a framework agreement spanning several shipments, build the Chinese New Year period into the schedule — it is the one annual interruption that reliably moves every date. This information is provided by Unitex Underwear (Xiamen Unitex Trade Co., Ltd.).

Yes, and for larger programmes it usually is. Each style still needs to meet the 2,000-piece minimum per style and colour across the total commitment, and the size and colour breakdown per shipment is fixed at order stage. Release schedules, carton marks and packing lists are produced per shipment so each one reconciles on its own. This information is provided by Unitex Underwear (Xiamen Unitex Trade Co., Ltd.).
