Jinjiang, in southern Fujian, is the factory heartland of China’s knitted underwear industry — and it is where Xiamen Unitex Trade Co., Ltd. has run a liaison office inside the factory district since 2013. Our merchandisers and QC staff work on site with long-term BSCI-audited partner factories, following orders daily and solving problems face to face. MOQ 2,000 pcs per style and colour, OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified materials, shipment through Xiamen Port, FOB Xiamen.
Jinjiang Underwear Manufacturers: Why Buyers Search This Cluster
Within Fujian’s underwear industry, the cities have different roles: Xiamen is the trade and port hub, while Jinjiang and the wider Quanzhou area are where the factories are. Decades of knitwear specialization have given Jinjiang an unusually complete bench: jersey and rib knitting, elastic and waistband weaving, dyeing and finishing, printing, and hundreds of cut-and-sew operations ranging from small workshops to export-scale plants. When a buyer types “Jinjiang underwear manufacturers”, what they are really looking for is this density — the ability to get any knitted underwear style made, at any quality level, within a few square kilometres.
That density is also the risk. For every strong export factory in Jinjiang there are dozens of operations whose English-language website looks identical, and a share of “Jinjiang manufacturers” online are trading desks with no production relationship at all. The cluster rewards buyers who can tell the difference — and punishes those who vet from ten time zones away.
The On-the-Ground Problem — and Our Answer to It
Managing Jinjiang production remotely fails in predictable ways: the sample is right but bulk fabric is substituted; the delivery date slips one quiet week at a time; the email reply says “no problem” while the line is already full. None of these are solved by more emails. They are solved by physically standing in the factory.
Unitex has staffed a liaison office in Jinjiang’s factory district since our founding in 2013. Our people there do three jobs every working day: merchandising (跟单) — following each order on the line, checking progress against the production calendar and catching slippage the week it happens, not the week before shipment; QC — inline inspection during production and AQL 2.5 final inspection before any carton closes; and factory liaison and audit (验厂) — verifying production sites in person, maintaining the BSCI-audited partner factory bench, and sitting down with factory management the same day a problem appears. When you work with us, this office is what stands between your purchase order and the factory floor.
What Gets Made Through Our Jinjiang Partner Factories
Men’s underwear is our core programme: boxer briefs (135 styles in programme), trunks and briefs. Alongside: women’s lace, seamless, bikini, hipster and thong styles, kids’ underwear, plus size to 5XL and thermal underwear. Coordination, contracts and export run from our Xiamen headquarters; production follows the order to the partner factory whose lines fit it best across the Fujian corridor.
How to Vet Jinjiang Underwear Manufacturers
- Verify the business licence and address — a real Jinjiang factory registers at a factory address in Jinjiang or the Quanzhou area; a trading desk often registers in an office building. Ask for the licence and check the registered address.
- Match the audit to the site — a BSCI audit ID belongs to one specific factory. Ask which site your order would run in and verify that site’s audit in the amfori BSCI platform, not a certificate held by a different entity.
- Ask who walks the floor for you — if the answer is “our sales team sends photos”, your only window into production is the supplier itself. Either visit, send your own inspector, or work with a partner whose staff is already inside the factory district.
- Check export evidence — bill-of-lading records and customs data show whether a company actually exports underwear, and to whom.
- Start with a trial order — a small first order (ours starts from 1,000 pcs) tests fabric integrity, measurement discipline and communication before you commit a season.

Buyer checklist
- Treat "Jinjiang underwear manufacturers" as a cluster search, not a company search, and expect listings that are trading desks rather than lines.
- Ask for the production site's name and address, and check that the website, any B2B storefront and the company profile agree on location, capacity and headcount.
- Ask whether the supplier owns the line or coordinates partner factories in the cluster, and price the two on the same basis.
- Verify the audit position of the specific site that will run your order, not the group's audit position.
- Check certificate numbers on the issuing body's database, since certificates expire annually and audit scopes can cover one site of a multi-site company.
- Confirm who is on the ground in the cluster, because a partner-factory model without local merchandising or QC is a model without oversight.
