Indonesian importers rarely open with a price question. They open with scope: is this line inside mandatory SNI, and who signs the PIBAS survey. Both are decided before the container is booked. Unitex Underwear (Xiamen Unitex Trade Co., Ltd.) supplies OEM underwear from audited partner factories in the Xiamen–Quanzhou–Jinjiang knitwear cluster in Fujian, China: MOQ 2,000 pieces per style and colour, sampling in 7–10 days, bulk in 45–60 days, FOB Xiamen, with amfori BSCI and OEKO-TEX Standard 100 held by the factories.
SNI scope comes first, and kidswear is the sharp edge
Textile imports are regulated by BSN together with the Ministry of Trade. Not every garment needs mandatory SNI, but defined categories do — and children’s apparel for under-twelve is inside that scope. A certificate cannot be conjured at the port: without it the goods do not clear. For adult underwear the position varies by line, so the honest answer is to check the HS line against the current list rather than assume either way. Since we make kids’ underwear as well as adults’, this is usually the first thing worth settling.
PIBAS, API-U and INSW: the paperwork moved before arrival
Every imported textile shipment needs PIBAS — a verification report from a designated surveyor — arranged ahead of arrival. The importer needs a valid API-U or API-P, with company data consistent across OSS, INSW and customs. Since Permendag 16/2025 and the real-time INSW monitoring came in, the old habit of shipping first and correcting documents later no longer clears. What we can do from this side is straightforward: issue the commercial invoice, packing list and certificate of origin so they match the label exactly, and hold the specification stable after approval.
The label has to be in Bahasa Indonesia
Labels carry fibre composition, care instructions, country of origin, and the importer’s name and address, in Bahasa Indonesia, positioned where it can be read and able to survive washing. We prepare the artwork and send it for approval before printing, because re-labelling after the goods are cut is charged per piece.
Fabric for heat and humidity
Indonesia is hot and humid year-round, which pushes the fabric decision. Combed cotton stays the default for everyday briefs but dries slowly. Modal and bamboo viscose feel cooler; microfibre and nylon/elastane move moisture and suit seamless and activewear. Tell us the retail price band and we will quote what holds up in that climate instead of the cheapest option.
Order terms
MOQ 2,000 pieces per style and colour; trial orders from 1,000 pieces on selected styles, with free size breakdown inside a style and colour. Counter samples in 7–10 days, fully custom development 12–18 days, bulk 45–60 days after pre-production approval. FOB Xiamen, 30 % deposit and 70 % against copy of the bill of lading; quotations valid 30 days.
What we supply, and what we do not
Men’s, women’s and kids’ underwear — boxer briefs, briefs, trunks, bikini, hipster, culotte, thongs and seamless — plus pyjamas and sleepwear, sports bras and seamless basics. We do not make outerwear, school uniforms, workwear, hosiery, shapewear or generic bras, and we do not trade licensed character product.

Buyer checklist
- Check whether your HS line sits inside mandatory SNI scope before you quote your own customer
- If the order includes kidswear, confirm the SNI certificate exists — it cannot be fixed at the port
- Line up the PIBAS surveyor before the vessel sails, not after arrival
- Confirm your API-U or API-P covers the goods and that OSS, INSW and customs data agree
- Approve the Bahasa Indonesia label artwork in writing before production begins
