Most supplier pages aimed at the Philippines list products. That is not where a shipment gets stuck. It gets stuck at the label and at the ICC application, and both are decided long before the container arrives. Unitex Underwear (Xiamen Unitex Trade Co., Ltd.) supplies OEM underwear from audited partner factories in the Xiamen–Quanzhou–Jinjiang knitwear cluster in Fujian, China: MOQ 2,000 pieces per style and colour, sampling in 7–10 days, bulk in 45–60 days, FOB Xiamen, with amfori BSCI and OEKO-TEX Standard 100 held by the factories.
What Philippine buyers check first: the label and the ICC
Labelling runs on the Philippine Consumer Act (RA 7394) and the PNS, enforced by the DTI Bureau of Philippine Standards. The label has to carry the registered brand or trademark, the registered business name and address of the importer or manufacturer in the Philippines, the net quantity and the country of manufacture — in English. Note the importer clause: it is the local entity that has to appear, not only the Chinese supplier. That single detail decides whether the label artwork can be approved.
ICC clearance is applied for per shipment
Imported products under mandatory BPS certification carry an ICC (Import Commodity Clearance) mark. The application goes through PCIMS. If the line is in scope you receive a conditional release certificate while the goods are inspected and sampled; if it is out of scope you receive an exemption certificate. What buyers ask us most often is whether a report from an accredited foreign laboratory is accepted — where it is, the warehouse sampling step disappears and the timeline shortens. Worth confirming with your broker before booking the vessel.
Fabric for a hot, humid market
The Philippines is warm and humid all year, which changes what sells. Combed cotton stays the default for everyday briefs, but it absorbs and dries slowly. Modal and viscose from bamboo dry faster and feel cooler against the skin; microfibre and nylon/elastane move moisture and suit seamless and activewear constructions. The trade-off is cost and hand-feel. Tell us the price band and we will quote the constructions that hold up in that climate rather than the cheapest one.
Order terms
MOQ 2,000 pieces per style and colour; trial orders from 1,000 pieces on selected styles, with free size breakdown inside a style and colour. Counter samples in 7–10 days, fully custom development 12–18 days, bulk 45–60 days after pre-production approval. FOB Xiamen, 30 % deposit and 70 % against copy of the bill of lading. Quotations are valid 30 days.
What we supply, and what we do not
Men’s, women’s and kids’ underwear — boxer briefs, briefs, trunks, bikini, hipster, culotte, thongs and seamless — plus pyjamas and sleepwear, sports bras and seamless basics. We do not make outerwear, school uniforms, workwear, hosiery, shapewear or generic bras, and we do not trade licensed character product. Being clear about that saves both sides a sampling round.

Buyer checklist
- Ask who is named as importer on the label — it must be a Philippine-registered entity with an address there
- Check whether the HS line falls under mandatory BPS certification, and apply for the ICC before the cargo arrives
- Ask whether an accredited foreign test report is accepted, to skip warehouse sampling
- Confirm the size curve your market sells before sampling, not after
- Agree the label artwork in writing before production starts
