FAQS

Are you an agent or a producer?

Unitex is a professional trading company backed by our own manufacturing base. In addition to our own facility, we work with long-term sub-contracted production lines for peak-season capacity. You get factory-direct economics and merchant-level service in one relationship.

Your price is good?

We offer consistently competitive pricing. Our deep relationships with material suppliers across China keep raw material costs down, and our experienced production teams maximize manufacturing efficiency — savings we pass directly to our customers.

What kind of fabric you could use for products?

We work with all major knitted fabrics for underwear and sleepwear: Cotton, Organic Cotton, Cotton/Elastane, Cotton/Polyester, Polyester, Polyester/Elastane, Nylon/Elastane, Viscose, Rayon, Modal, Bamboo, mixed yarns and recycled fabrics. All materials are OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified.

What kind of printing we could use for the products?

We offer water-based, rubber, transfer/hot-transfer, discharge, reactive and digital printing, plus yarn-dyed stripes for a no-print look. We recommend the best technique for your fabric and artwork, and you approve a strike-off before bulk printing.

What is the MOQ?

MOQ varies by style, fabric and accessories. As a general rule, it is 2,000 pieces per style per colorway. For first-time buyers, smaller trial orders can be discussed to validate quality and fit before scaling.

I am a new comer in the market, Can I order the quantity lower than the MOQ?

Yes. We are glad to support new brands — quantities below the standard MOQ are negotiable. Unit costs run slightly higher on small runs, and most customers scale to full MOQ from the second order.

Can I get free sample from Unitex?

Yes — we are happy to send a few free reference samples so you can evaluate our workmanship, fabric quality, print quality and measurements. You only cover the courier charge (payable by PayPal), or provide your UPS, TNT, FedEx or DHL account for freight collect.

Can I custom my own design?

Yes — custom development is a core service. Our professional production team develops your own design from sketch to finished garment, or you can select from our design library and we will adapt it to your market’s trends.

Can I put my own logo on the products?

Absolutely. We offer full OEM service — your logo can be applied by jacquard weaving into the elastic waistband, hot stamping, printing, woven labels, hangtags and retail packaging.

Can Unitex make sales samples for me?

Yes. We produce sales samples based on your design. A sampling charge applies and depends on style, fabric, printing and quantity. Contact us with your details and our professional team will follow up.

How to pay for the sales sample charge?

We send a proforma invoice based on your sample request. Payment can be made by T/T or PayPal.

How many days for developing sales sample?

Development time depends on style, fabric, printing and accessories. Typically 15–30 days.

How Can I get the quotation?

Send us your inquiry details for costing — style artwork, fabric details, size chart, printing artwork, accessories, packing and testing requirements — or courier us an original sample for direct costing. With the necessary information, our team returns a quotation within 24 hours.

How many days for an order to process?

Production time depends on style, fabric, printing and accessories. New orders typically take 45–60 days. Repeat orders with previously used fabrics and trims ship faster — usually 30–40 days, and as little as 25 days for standardized programs.

How many days for sampling?

With complete order information, typical timing is:

Lab dips: 3–5 days for solid colors, 5–7 days for yarn-dyed.

Fitting samples: 3–7 days.

Print strike-offs: 3–7 days.

Accessories (labels, hangtags, boxes): 7–10 days.

Pre-production samples: 5–7 days after bulk fabric and accessories arrive.

What is your payment terms?

1. 30% deposit upon order confirmation, 70% T/T against copy of Bill of Lading;

2. L/C at sight;

3. Other terms can be discussed based on our long-term cooperation.

How to arrive at your company or factory?

You are welcome to visit our head office and factory. Our head office is in Xiamen, Fujian — fly to Xiamen Airport or take the bullet train to Xiamen Station, and we will pick you up. Our factory is in Shenhu Town, Jinjiang County, Quanzhou, Fujian — reachable via Jinjiang Airport or Jinjiang Station; we will arrange pickup.

What is the shipping port?

Normally we ship via Xiamen Port, conveniently located between Shenzhen and Shanghai. Other ports can be arranged on request.

How fast can a repeat order (re-order) be shipped?

Standard bulk runs 45–60 days, but repeat orders with previously used fabrics and trims can typically ship in 30–40 days. When the original fabric is still available from our mill partners and trims are standardized, we have shipped re-orders in as little as 25 days. The key is that the original yarn, dyeing recipe and accessory specs are already on file — so cutting and sewing can start almost immediately. If you anticipate strong sell-through on a program, let your merchandiser know early so we can pre-block fabric and production capacity.

How long is your quotation valid? Will confirmed prices change if raw material costs fluctuate?

Standard quotations are valid for 30 days from the date of issue. Once an order is confirmed with a deposit, the price is locked — we do not pass mid-production raw material increases onto confirmed orders. For strategic programs with rolling forecasts, we can discuss price guarantees of 60–90 days, or quarterly price locks on core styles where fabric and trim specifications are fixed. This gives your purchasing department stable numbers to plan against.

What are your fabric performance and testing standards? (Shrinkage, colorfastness, elasticity, etc.)

We test every fabric batch before cutting. Key benchmarks for underwear and sleepwear:

Shrinkage: ≤ 5% after 5 wash cycles (cotton-rich fabrics); ≤ 3% for modal and viscose.

Colorfastness: Grade 4 or above (ISO 105-C06, 40°C wash).

Elastic recovery: Waistband and elastic trims tested at 300% stretch — residual deformation must be < 5% after repeated cycling.

Seam strength: Tested per ISO 13935-2 on all stress points (crotch, waistband attachment).

pH value: 4.0–7.5 for skin-contact fabrics (ISO 3071).

Test reports from SGS, Intertek or TÜV are available on request. We can also test to your specific protocols if your QA team requires additional parameters.

How do you guarantee delivery time during peak season (August–October)?

Peak season is planned, not improvised. Here is how we protect your schedule:

1. Capacity reservation — Key styles with forecasted volume get dedicated line time blocked in advance. You confirm a rolling forecast; we hold the capacity.

2. Multi-line production matrix — Beyond our own facility, we work with long-term subcontracted lines that hold equivalent BSCI audit status. If one line hits capacity, another takes over without quality drift.

3. Early material commitment — For peak-season programs, we strongly recommend confirming fabric and trims by June. This avoids the August–September mill bottleneck when everyone is trying to book dyeing slots simultaneously.

We flag realistic delivery risks early — if a date is tight, we tell you before you commit, not after.

Are your patterns designed for European or American body types?

We maintain two foundational grading blocks developed from years of fitting data:

EU block — suited to European body proportions, with a slightly higher hip-to-waist ratio and narrower leg opening tolerance.

US block — graded for the North American market, with a fuller cut through the hip and thigh.

Both blocks are starting points — we adjust grading to your spec sheet and target consumer. Our pattern makers can modify leg opening angles, rise depth and waistband placement to fine-tune the fit. A graded measurement spec is supplied with every style, and bulk is measured against your sealed sample at final inspection.

The EU Digital Product Passport (DPP) is coming. Can you provide supply chain traceability data?

Yes. We are already preparing for DPP requirements. For each program we can document:

Yarn source — spinner name, yarn count, fiber composition and origin.

Dyeing and finishing — dye house name, dye and chemical inventory, water and energy data where available.

Fabric certification — OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certificate numbers linked to each fabric lot.

Manufacturing location — factory address, audit status and production records.

This data is compiled in a BOM-level traceability document that feeds directly into your DPP system. If your compliance team needs a specific format or data fields, share the template and we will populate it during sampling.

What is the difference between OEKO-TEX Standard 100 Class I and Class II? Which applies to your products?

OEKO-TEX Standard 100 has four product classes based on intended end-use:

Class I — products for babies and toddlers up to 36 months (strictest limits: formaldehyde ≤ 16 mg/kg, no harmful substances traceable).

Class II — products with skin contact (adult underwear, sleepwear: formaldehyde ≤ 75 mg/kg).

Our materials are certified to Class II, which covers adult underwear, women’s underwear, sleepwear and sport bras. This is the standard applicable to the majority of our production.

If you are developing children’s products that require Class I certification — particularly for the EU market — please discuss this with us during sampling. We can work with our fabric suppliers to source Class I-certified materials for your program, and route testing through OEKO-TEX-authorized labs to obtain the correct certification.

Can you provide GRS Transaction Certificates (TC) for recycled fabrics?

Yes, with a note on how the process works. Our recycled fabrics (rPET, recycled nylon) come from GRS-certified mill partners. When you place an order using recycled materials, we request a Transaction Certificate (TC) from the fabric supplier — this document traces the recycled content through every link in the supply chain, from the recycling source to the finished fabric.

The TC is issued by the certification body (usually Textile Exchange or Control Union) and carries the supplier’s GRS license number, the fabric batch details and the recycled content percentage. We provide this document with your shipment documentation.

One thing to plan for: TC issuance takes 7–15 working days after the fabric is shipped from the mill. If your launch timeline is tight, confirm recycled material choices early so we can initiate the TC process in parallel with production.

Are your packaging materials compliant with EU EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility) regulations?

We offer packaging options designed for EU EPR compliance:

Recycled PE bags — GRS-certified post-consumer recycled poly bags, fully traceable.

PLA biodegradable bags — plant-based, compostable under industrial conditions.

FSC-certified paper cartons — recycled content, plastic-reduced packing configurations.

Reduced-plastic packing — compression packing that lowers carton volume and units-per-shipment, cutting both plastic use and freight cost.

We can also adapt packaging to country-specific requirements (e.g., France’s AGEC law, Germany’s VerpackG). Share your target market’s EPR obligations and we will align the packing spec accordingly.

What happens if a quality issue is found after delivery?

We handle it directly — no deflection, no delays.

Within 48 hours of notification: Our QC team reviews the issue, requests photos or returns of the defective units, and issues an initial assessment.

Root Cause Analysis (RCA): We identify whether the issue originated in fabric, cutting, sewing or packaging, and document findings in an 8D corrective action report — including containment, root cause, permanent corrective action and prevention of recurrence.

Resolution options depend on severity:

Minor defects (within AQL tolerance): discount or credit toward next order.

Major defects (above AQL): replacement shipment or partial refund.

Critical defects (safety / compliance): full replacement at our cost, plus expedited shipping.

This is not theory — we have run this process with brands in the EU, US and South America. The key is that we document everything, respond fast, and make sure your retail timeline is protected.
