Xiamen Unitex Trade Co., Ltd. is an underwear OEM and ODM supplier based in Xiamen, Fujian Province, China, sourcing from the Xiamen–Quanzhou–Jinjiang knitwear cluster. We have exhibited at eight editions of the China Import and Export Fair (the Canton Fair) in Guangzhou between 2015 and 2019, and at two editions of the Textillegprom federal trade fair in Moscow in 2024: the 61st, at Crocus Expo Pavilion 3, Hall 13, stand H-66, and the 62nd, at Crocus Expo Pavilion 3, stand D9.
We went to both to put men’s, women’s and kids’ underwear in front of buyers who could pick it up, feel the fabric and take a catalogue away.
Most conversations started at the waistband. An underwear buyer lifts the sample by the elastic and the first two questions are how wide it is and whether their own brand wording can be printed or knitted into it. Neither is visible in a photograph, so the 4.5 cm and 6 cm widths travelled in the sample case to every stand.

Where we sit in the chain
We are not a factory. Unitex is a sourcing and supply-chain management company; the orders are placed, followed up and inspected at long-term partner factories in Fujian and Guangdong. Our head office is in Xiamen, in Fujian Province, and a liaison office inside the Jinjiang factory district (Quanzhou, Fujian) has been staffed since 2013 — so the merchandiser following your order works in the same cluster where it is produced.

What a fair does — and does not — settle for a multi-market buyer
If you buy for more than one market, a fair is valuable for one specific reason: you can compare the same programme against several destination markets in one conversation. What it cannot settle is each market’s own paperwork — that is worked out afterwards, per country.

Buyer checklist
- Before you travel, list the style numbers you actually want priced, not the categories.
- Ask for the waistband elastic width in centimetres, and whether your own wording can be knitted or printed into it.
- Ask who will run your file after the fair, and take that person's direct email or WhatsApp number.
- Ask for a counter sample in your own size range before you leave, and agree the date it ships.
- Ask which certificates sit behind the order, who holds them, and how to look the certificate number up yourself.
- Ask for the grading table across the size curve you sell, not a single size.
- Ask what the quoted price includes and what it does not: labelling, testing, packing, inland haulage.
- Ask for bulk lead time counted from pre-production sample approval, not from the order date.
- Ask for MOQ per style per colour, and whether a trial quantity is possible on the styles you want.
- Leave with the name of the partner factory that will produce your order, not only the trading company's name.
